No I agree, it's conceptually really good. But it's dialogue/plot is pretty corny at times, some of his movies are like that.
I rewatched Naked Lunch a while back, it's much better than I thought. I actually like it, it's well thought out with the double entendre thing the whole way. I remember screaming at someone that the movie was pretentious bullshit back in the day that it sucked balls.
Have you ever seen M Butterfly, another David Cronenberg flick. That one I find disturbing, at least the actual plot of it since it's based on a true story. Woudn't say it's great just interesting.
