ok i'll check those Therion albums, Thelion would've been the next album I checked out anyways since its their 5th album. I noticed the first 2 Therion albums are more straight forward death metal, what do you think of "Symphony Masses" and "Lepaca Kliffoth"? those ones are all symphonic they might sound more like the albums you suggested.

I'm actually not a huge Therion fan, i've heard several of their albums including the ones you mentioned. I think they may be one of the first symphonic metal bands. Mostly all have certain redeeming qualities, but Theli and Secret of the Runes are my choice picks.

It seems Therion was progressing and developing until they hit Theli where they lost a lot of their death metal sound.

I actually heard Bal-Sagoths "Battle Magic" maybe a year or more ago, I remember it had a lot of keyboard sounding shit and funny sounding vocals. I don't remember much just that it sounded dense, and I ended up deleting it.

They remind me of a crazier version of Arcturus, I'm assuming you've heard of them.

yeah I know who Arcturus is, never really got into them. I would say "Imaginary Soniscape" or "Scenario IV: Dread Dreams" are probably my favorites but I like all their albums really, each one has something different to offer. "Gallows Gallery" doesn't even have any harsh vocals, if you check that one out make sure its the 2007 remastered version

It's unique, can't say i'm a fan of it but I dig some tracks from it, like nightmare heaven. Hellhammer plays on it.

i'll listen to that nightmare hammer track on youtube, I don't think I ever listened to anything on "The Sham Mirrors" I heard some of "La Masquerade Infernale" and wasn't really into it.

I'm guessing it's going to take like 20 days to digest this album, considering you can only get like 2 spins in a day, and who the fuck knows how to tell the songs apart.
