Pretty much, its a no-brainer, if someone has been listening to Hiphop since 92 they would know more than someone who got into it when it pretty much sucked in 2005, Just like if a metalhead was listening to bay area thrash in the 80s his knowledge would be far superior to that of someone who got into metal in 2000 when nu-metal was big.

Black Sabbath's Bill Ward great drummer and a better drummer plus more well versed in drumming than lets say Slayer's Dave Lombardo because when Slayer came out that's when Glam metal was big, and glam metal sucked which makes Dave Lombardo not know shit about Metal, along with people brought up in the Grunge era. I once played soccer when I was like 7 years old, I know more about Soccer than anyone who started playing soccer after 1996.
