Poor boys can’t afford to buy international flight tickets. They usually can’t even afford to fly domestic. And they definitely can’t buy a ticket and pay for it when they don’t plan to use it. Instead, police often find poor criminals hiding in fields, asleep under overpasses, and in any park or alley that they can find, or hiding out with a friend. Magnotta didn’t appear to have any of those.

Another detail that supports the alleged killer’srecent newfound financial status due to a deep pockets personality is that no one thus far in this high-tech Internet age has been able to locate the missing man definitively.

And what person can really disappear off the face of the earth unless he has the resources he needs to reinvent himself or to hire other people to run his errands for food and other necessities? And that takes money, of course, or some well-connected friends with deep pockets.

Magnotta reportedly spotted in Paris

MONTREAL - Suspected killer Luka Magnotta was spotted in Paris, according to a source who spoke to French news service, Agence-France Presse.
AFP reported Sunday that the man known in France as "the Cutter" was seen at a hotel in a Parisian neighbourhood. AFP also reported that French police had been able to track Magnotta's whereabouts by his cell phone.
The source allegedly told AFP that Magnotta, who is wanted in connection with a grisly murder of a Chinese national in Montreal, had already left the hotel when police arrived on Saturday.
French investigators allegedly found some of Magnotta's belongings in a hotel room, including porn magazines and plane vomit bags from the flight between Canada and France, AFP reported.
Magnotta is suspected of killing AND dismembering Jun Lin, a 33-year-old student at Concordia University. A source told QMI Agency that both men were dating and Magnotta became angry when Lin broke off the relationship and started dating another man. Magnotta allegedly cut Lin's body in pieces and mailed parts to Canadian political parties. Lin was reported missing May 29 and Montreal police said they believe Magnotta had already fled the country and could be in France.
The killing triggered an international manhunt and made headlines around the world.
France's Le Parisien newspaper reported Sunday that the manager of a bar in Paris said he saw Magnotta in his establishment on Wednesday night. The manager, who didn't want to give his name, said the man he thought was Magnotta looked "very nervous" and was drinking a soft drink.
The French media have reported that other witnesses have claimed to have spotted Magnotta in Paris.

Many of you are thinking this is just a slam dunk case. You're waiting around for him to get caught and then you're assuming that he'll just automatically spend the rest of his life in prison.
But, I can't over emphasize enough to you the obvious and strong evidence for Luka Magnotta's defense that exists within the differences between those two movie posters in the background.

A lot of people thought that Casey Anthony would spend the rest of her life in prison for killing her infant daughter, but a competent attorney took her case pro bono, used evidence to create reasonable doubt within the jury's minds, and Casey Anthony was acquitted...even though she had essentially been tried and convicted in the media and by the court of public opinion (I personally also think Casey Anthony was guilty as sin).
But if you can create reasonable doubt within the minds of a jury, a person who is seemingly guilty as sin can walk free...and the differences between those two movie posters in the background is a very strong piece of evidence to create such reasonable doubt.

This whole case is one of the most bizarre in the annals of crime. Something about it just jars. I can't believe anyone would build up a huge archive of web evidence, then actually kill someone and leave so many pointers to make sure they got caught. I can believe someone has gone out of their way to incriminate Magnotta.

If they haven't, he has to be possibly the most fascinating killer of all time. Everything he says and does is mad. So much so that you wonder how on earth he could have lived in society for so long. He seems simultaneously weak and yet strong, clever and yet stupid, ruthless and yet pitiful, dangerous yet ineffectual.

I really hope he gets taken alive because if it turns out he is the killer, he seems the type who would want to talk about his crime(s) and that would be very interesting indeed, I think.

If someone has framed Magnotta, that would be even more amazing if you think about it. Luka Magnotta is probably what you'd get if you crossed Jack the Ripper with Bart Simpson.
